It’s almost our favorite time of year, the time when we can pull out the RVs and prepare for a season of road trips, camping out, and s’mores making. Speaking of s’mores, one of the things you need to do to prepare for your next adventure is to make sure your RV kitchen is stocked and ready to go. What will you need to get to prepare? Here is our list of suggestions.
Your first order of business is to make sure that your supplies aren’t breakable. Don’t buy plates, glasses, or stemware that look pretty, but that you will have to clean up when the road gets rough, or when the kids get a little too rough in the RV playing tag. Next, make sure that every piece you buy for the kitchen has more than one function. For example, rather than have four or five pots, why not have one pot that acts as a pressure cooker and a slow cooker? There are some that can even act as a saucepan!
Also, you can buy a lot of kitchen supplies that are collapsible, such as colanders and mixing bowls. There are dish racks that can be flattened and stored as well.
Finally, make sure that you do a practice run with your RV full of kitchen supplies. You will want to make sure that your kitchen functions just the way you want it to. Check on whether or not all of your favorite foods and equipment will be able to find a new home in your RV. That way, when you’re ready to move on out for the RV season, you’ll be completely prepared to cook your next meal.
